Lunchtime SG Supported Study

Don’t panic about upcoming exams-Get Prepared!

The Physics Department is hosting twice weekly SG supported study sessions at lunchtimes. These will be held every Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime in the department in either Lab 4 or Lab 5. Each session we will be focusing on a different section of the course, starting with the Telecoms unit right through to Electricity and eventually Space.

We will be starting these classes at 12.10 sharp and encourage you to bring you lunch with you as we revise the topics. Below is a timetable for the areas of the course that will be covered and when we will do it. You may feel that you only need help with particular sections so may drop in and out on a session by session basis. On the other hand, you may feel that a more thorough approach to exam preparation is required and you a free to come to all of the sessions on offer. Just click on the link to get the dates of topics.

A huge welcome back to all of our pupils after the long summer break. It is great to see so many pupils hard at work in preparation for the challenges of the coming school term.

Palletways Balloon

During this years Science Fayre Palletways brought along their balloons for demo. One of which was named slick, a 50foot dragon.

Physics Exams over

A huge well done to all of our pupils who completed this years SQA Exams in Physics.

The pupils were a credit to themselves as they prepared and I’m sure they will be rewarded in june when the results are announced.

Personally, I felt that although some questions were challenging the papers were fair and pupils who worked hard on past papers would score well.

A full collection of the Intermediate 1 notes are now found on line. These include detailed notes and problems to be solved{the best way to prepare for an exam}

To further support our pupils we have uploaded to the website what seems like every problem that is possible to do.

The Questions are suitable for both SG and Higher Pupils and easily navigated due to the sidebar information on the file.
